Text pricing needs a revisit
All of the SMS additions that are finally coming out have been very much anticipated and I’m happy to see them, however with every one of these “new features” comes a hefty price tag to use them.
If we want to use the text receipts and now the new text for review feature we’ll officially be spending more on texts than we are on BLVD itself. It’s costing us $200 a month just to have confirmations and reminders sent out. For the price point of BLVD to only receive 250 "Free" texts is a bit restrictive in 2024. Every other platform includes SMS at no additional cost or starts out at least 5000 messages. I think a revisit to the pricing is necessary or offer an unlimited package but $200+ for sms is not ok.

Well considering the closest competitor that rimes with Mints offers FREE texting included. It's about time Boulevard to adjust this egregious price gouging.

The amount Boulevard charges for text notifications is obscene. As much as we pay for this platform, it should be FREE. Text and email campaigns should be much cheaper as well. I would never have signed up if i had known this and as soon as my contract is up I will be switching to another platform bc this is a deal breaker.

ABSOLUTELY. I was just typing submitting an idea regarding the astronomical fees for basic client communication needs that other platforms include for FREE because they are critical. I'm sick of paying more than an actual phone bill to communicate through BLVD . I have turned that feature off because it's such a turn off and it's confusing to the client when they get confirmation texts from Blvd's number.

Switched from gloss to BLVD and I am NOOOOT happy about this feature either. Very expensive platform and the reasons why we moved over have been nothing but disappointing. I really wish I did my research before making the jump.

I also agree, having just switched to boulevard from mangomint all our confirmation texts and appointment reminders were free and 2 way messaging was also included in our plan . I pay around the same monthly for boulevard as i did for manogmint but now will pay almost double that for the added texting features in boulevard. Has me thinking about switching back which is unfortunate because i do like boulevard.

I completely agree with this. When I first signed up, texting was unlimited, and now my texting bill has actually surpassed what I pay for Boulevard itself. At this point, we’re spending over $250 a month just to send confirmations and reminders, which feels excessive considering most other platforms include SMS in their base price or at least start with thousands of texts, not just 250.
Our team has even talked about turning off Boulevard auto-texts altogether and switching to a phone plan with unlimited texting instead — not only would it be cheaper, but we’d also get instant notifications when a client messages us. With Boulevard, we have to keep checking and refreshing the screen, which isn’t practical.
The new features are great in theory, but the cost attached makes them hard to justify. I agree that Boulevard really needs to revisit their SMS pricing or offer an unlimited option, because the current structure just isn’t sustainable.

I agree that it is unfortunate to have hefty charges for texts. This is how clients like to be communicated with, so it would be unfortunate for a business to decide to turn texts off because the overcharges are too steep. When I signed up for Boulevard I didn't realize there were additional text charges that could be so lofty...but we are new so i have no idea what the overcharges may look like. The last company I was with was unlimited for texts and email marketing, which was nice.

BLVD needs to stay competitive in this arena, there are simply too many other software options available to us. To see this "waitlisted" is insulting. Watch us not waitlist shopping around to see which other companies we like better. SMS is nearly free with most other companies at this point in time.

the costs of texting is obscene. client confirmations are free on EVERY OTHER PLATFORM. I also pay 3x what i was paying with Vagaro. I shouldn't have to pay $200 a month to send and receive confirmations. its boarderline scamming

I am currently onboarding and my jaw dropped when i was told what the cost would be. This is insane and makes me rethink my choice of switching from gloss.

Agreed, the text charge increases from my old system were surprisingly more than I anticipated.

I agree! The software program is pricey enough! The text feature should just be included in that price, not additional money!

This is the part that is making me reconsider BLVD. The nickel and dimming for every feature that is starting to come standard on every other platform is offensive.

I’m writing to request a change to how message charges are applied in the system. Right now, we’re being charged (or messages are counted against our allotment) for essential, system-generated communications—like appointment confirmations and reminders—as well as for ongoing two-way communication with clients.
Our clients frequently text us to let us know they’re running late, need to reschedule, or have questions about their appointment. These are necessary conversations that help us manage our calendar, reduce no-shows, and maintain a high standard of customer service.
We strongly believe that these operational messages—whether automated or part of regular scheduling conversations—should not count toward our messaging limit or incur extra charges. This isn’t marketing; it’s basic business functionality.
We’d love to see a system update that excludes appointment-related messages (both automated and manual) from billing, or at least categorizes them separately from promotional or non-essential messages.

We were not told there was a limit when we signed up, we found out halfway through launch day. I wholeheartedly agree with this! Texting was one of the main reasons we switched!
