YES. This is a huge workflow issue. Chart templates in a medical practice are not static. We are constantly refining them as protocols change, documentation requirements evolve, or we realize there is a better way to capture information.
The system should intelligently carry forward matching fields from the prior version of the chart and simply leave any newly added fields blank for the provider to complete. A minor template update should not force us to essentially start from scratch.
Please prioritize this. It would make maintaining and improving clinical documentation significantly easier without disrupting day-to-day charting.
