New Patient Booking Restrictions / First-Visit Flag
I would love to see Boulevard add more control over how new patients are able to book online.
Currently, a brand-new patient can book almost any service we offer without first being evaluated or having a consultation. For a medical spa, this can create workflow and clinical issues because many treatments require us to review medical history, contraindications, treatment goals, candidacy, and expectations before the actual procedure is scheduled.
Ideally, Boulevard would offer one or both of the following options:
New Patient Booking Restrictions
Allow businesses to designate certain services as unavailable to new patients until they have completed a consultation or first visit. For example, if a client has no previous completed appointments, Boulevard could automatically direct them to a “New Patient Consultation” before allowing them to self-book treatments such as lasers, Ultherapy, fillers, body contouring, or other medical aesthetic services.
Automatic New Patient / First Visit Flag
If a new patient is allowed to book a treatment directly, it would be extremely helpful for Boulevard to automatically flag the appointment as NEW PATIENT / FIRST VISIT so the front desk and provider immediately know that this person has never been seen before. This could appear on the appointment, schedule, client profile, or confirmation screen without staff having to manually identify and flag the patient.
