This should be a basic membership-management feature. A declined recurring membership payment should generate an immediate, visible notification to the business, not just quietly flag the client’s chart and hope someone notices it.
Boulevard should also allow us to collect the unpaid membership balance once the client updates their payment method. Right now, if a payment fails and the issue is not caught immediately, the client can continue receiving membership access or benefits while no payment is being collected.
I recently had a membership payment lapse for almost three weeks before the client updated her card. Once the card was corrected, I had no way to go back and collect the missed membership amount, so she essentially received nearly a month of membership benefits for free.
Ideally, Boulevard should:
- Immediately notify designated staff when a recurring payment fails
- Automatically notify the client and provide a way to update their card
- Maintain a clear past-due balance for any missed membership payments
- Automatically retry the card based on customizable settings
- Give the business the ability to charge the outstanding balance once a valid payment method is added
- Allow us to decide whether membership benefits are paused while the account is delinquent
- Show all failed and past-due memberships in one dashboard or task list
- Keep the account flagged until the balance has actually been resolvedA declined card should not effectively create a free period of membership simply because the payment failure was not caught immediately. Boulevard needs a true delinquent-membership workflow that protects both the business and the accuracy of the membership account.

Yes, absolutely. The current form/chart builder is much more cumbersome than it needs to be.
The copy/paste behavior needs improvement. When duplicating a field or section, the copy should appear directly below or next to the original item, not all the way at the bottom of the document. On longer clinical forms, having to scroll down, find the copied item, and drag it back into place is extremely inefficient.
