Sales Tax Collected Report
A comprehensive report which shows Product, Service, Membership, and Package sales where it is totaled. Basically, the following reports combined in to one:
- "Service Sales by Category"
- "Membership Sales"
- "Package Sales"
- "Product Sales"
This would allow a breakdown of each category and a grand total - for reporting purposes to the state when paying sales tax.
Played with the Detailed line item report - but it is lacking (doesn't total, doesn't show all sales tax collected, doesn't show all necessary categories)

I am in a beta test for new reporting, and there is a report in there (Daily Summary) which can get pretty close to what you want. It defaults to daily data, but you can group by month to show totals for the month you are interested in.
Hopefully the new reporting will help you with this one!
overall the new reports are SO MUCH better than the old experience.
