commentedWe need to be able to charge deposits for some services and we need the ability to distinguish if we want to charge a deposit each time that service is booked or if it is only for new clients etc. So this feature needs to be flexible. And I agree with other in this thread that we need to collect a deposit when someone books online or in-person/over the phone!
**Is there any update from the BLVD team on this feature?

commentedIn the medical, small world, deposits are usually a dollar figure rather than a percentage of the service given there are so many variables and products that can be used. It would be extremely helpful for our business if the deposits were a dollar figure rather than based off of percentage of service cost.

commentedClients need to be able to access their account credits and membership money when booking an online appointment so they can use the money they've already paid and accumulated towards appointment deposits. Otherwise, they have to pay an additional deposit when they already have money in their account and it takes away the convenience of online booking. They should also be able to view how much money is in their account from their own profile.

 commentedDetails:
Currently, clients are prompted to pay a deposit at the time of online booking—even if they’ve already purchased a prepaid membership or package that covers the service. This can lead to confusion, duplicate payments, and a poor booking experience.Requested Behavior:
If a client has a valid prepaid package or membership that applies to the service being booked, the system should automatically recognize this and waive the deposit requirement during online checkout.

commentedCurrently, clients are required to pay a deposit when booking online, which is great. However, when appointments are booked by a stylist—in person, over the phone, or through the dashboard or mobile app—there’s no way to collect that same deposit in a consistent way. The workaround of creating a manual sale and applying an "account credit" is not the same as a true deposit. It’s confusing both for clients and staff, and it adds unnecessary complexity to what should be a seamless process. If the goal is to ensure commitment and protect against no-shows, this functionality really needs to be available across all booking types—not just online self-booking. My suggestion: If a deposit is required for a service, that requirement should apply regardless of how the appointment is booked—online, by staff, or through the app. The system should prompt staff to collect the deposit (or store the card on file) in the same streamlined way, without needing to create a separate transaction under account credits. I hope this is something your team will consider. It would really help simplify things for both businesses and clients.

commentedNeed this to send to clients so they can enter credit card to keep on file - even though we don't charge a deposit. Many don't like to give it over the phone. any updates on this? Seems very popular and has been desired for a quite some time.

commentedIt is so difficult to take deposits when booking an appointment as an admin! Give an option to take deposits when booking an appointment and charge the card on file or check out through Duo.

commentedThe current way to take deposits for clients is a bit tricky and complicated, it would be easier not only for our books but for general house keeping if we could take deposits directly on the appointments on our end. That way we can see that the client has paid a deposit SPECIFICALLY for that appointment.
