Provide Flat Rate Pricing
Hi Boulevard Support or whomever will read this,
On most occasions I usually just pass by these marketing emails. however this time I wanted to take a moment and reply. I genuinely love using Blvd. It has made a real difference in my salon, allowing us communicate with our guests plus also giving me better visibility into my team’s performance and important business metrics. It is a great system, but I am sure as you all are aware it is incredibly expensive.
In addition, what has become increasingly frustrating is that nearly every new feature you all launch comes with another fee. If we send too many text messages, connect QuickBooks, use Beau, or add another tool, add a form, etc our bill increases again. It feels like there is never one complete package, just another add-on and another charge. And it is exhausting.
Running a profitable salon is already extremely difficult. I am struggling to do everything I can to break even, on top of how hard it is in this current reality to find a good team. We have high operating expenses, commission-based payroll, and revenue that is constantly changing. I know Boulevard works closely with salons, so I would hope your team would do a better job of understanding how these random added monthly costs affect small business owners.
I was genuinely excited when I learned about Beau because I could immediately see how it might help streamline some of our processes. I recently completed a demo with GlossGenius and loved that its AI tools and most of its features were included in a flat-rate package. I ultimately chose not to switch because it does not allow guests to book appointments for more than one person, but the experience made me realize just how tiring Boulevard’s à la carte pricing has become.
I have already switched payment processors because I hated the thought that Blvd was able to make additional money though Offset, with very minimal benefit to me. Now, when I see another new feature, my first thought is no longer excitement, it is, “How much more is this going to cost me?”
I understand that Boulevard is a business and needs to be profitable. But from my side, it is beginning to feel as though every new tool is created as another way to generate revenue from us instead of helping salon owners build stronger, more sustainable businesses. Perhaps that model works well for Boulevard, but I am going to be very transparent and share I am struggling to stay afloat.
So, although Beau sounds helpful, I will not be trying it because I simply cannot afford another fee. I truly hope Boulevard considers offering a more comprehensive, predictable package that allows its customers to benefit from these tools without constantly increasing their monthly expenses. At this point, I am truly over it and will continue sourcing other vendors that will not only be more affordable but more predictable.
Many thanks again for sharing about your new feature,
-

I have many of the same thoughts. Early on, so many features were included. Now it seems that most new things come with a price tag, and most of the work is going into those features while core parts of the software get neglected (not able to turn off tipping per service or per provider, or booking group appointments from the dashboard for example)
