Guest Experience Impact: Contact Info Required Before Viewing Dates
Boulevard now requires guests to enter a phone number or email address before they are able to view appointment dates and availability. Previously, guests could browse services, select a professional, and view available times before being asked to provide contact information at the final step of booking.
This change introduces friction early in the booking flow, particularly for first-time guests who are still in an exploratory phase and simply want to check availability. Requiring personal information before showing dates can feel premature and may reduce trust or willingness to continue, especially compared to platforms that allow guests to view availability before logging in or sharing contact details.
From a guest experience and conversion standpoint, this feels like a step backward. Many guests want to confirm that timing works before committing to sharing personal information. When that option isn’t available, some may abandon the booking process altogether rather than proceed.
Allowing guests to view availability before requiring contact details would better support discovery, reduce drop-off, and align more closely with guest-friendly booking expectations.
