Duo should not require an iPad app connection for checkout
We are one of many boutique hair studio in NYC and have eliminated the 'front desk' We do all our own bookings by email and online and use a laptop in the salon. With the duo, now we have to have the ipad as well just to process with no other functionality needed in the salon for an ipad. The ipad also has to remain off idle/unlock so the Duo app is always working. So the ipad now has to remain on the charger. For a salon without a front desk it's one too many devices and silly that the only reason we need it now is for the processor. Booking appointments and using Boulevard's many features does not work well with the ipad at all. If it was compatible with the ipad and the duo it would make sense, then we could have only one device.
Please make your duo bluetooth compatible to connect directly with the device of choice or be able to plug in directly to the laptop.

We'd love the ability to use the Duo card readers directly from the Boulevard app. It would save us the back and forth between different devices. We currently have to initiate the checkout from a computer and then complete the transaction through the Duo app on an ipad. We can't do a checkout from the Boulevard app on the ipad because we have to have the Duo app open for the Duos to be connected. If they were integrated, we'd be able to initiate the checkout & use the Duos from the Boulevard app. I hope I explained that right.

It is such a hassle having Duo only compatible to an ipad. Before Duo launched, BLVD worked best on a laptop. It was super glitchy on the ipad and the apps only do a limited amount of the functions. So to have the best usage it needed to be used on a laptop. Then Duo is released and ONLY compatible with an ipad. We now have to have a laptop AND an ipad AND the duo. Duo only works if the ipad is connected, charged and the app is launched indefinitely. If any of this goes wrong DUO disconnects and you are now taking added time to check a client out only to reconnect DUO. Now this happens at least 10x a day. Oh also, DUO battery dies fast. So does the ipad if it never sleeps. So now, in addition to my laptop and the charger, you now how to have two additional devices connncected and charging at all time. THe whole set up just isn't functional or streamlined. It just doesnt make sense. If DUO is going to be compatible only with the ipad, then BLVD software should then also be fully functional on an ipad.
