WHAT IT IS:
A deposit collection system that sends SMS links for partial payments, confirms the appointment upon payment, and automatically cancels if not paid within a set timeframe.

USE CASE:
They send a client an SMS to collect a partial payment (e.g., a $50-$100 non-refundable deposit that comes off the final service price). If the client doesn't pay within a specified timeframe, the link expires and both the client and the studio are notified. They communicate with clients only via SMS, and artists/piercers (1099 contractors) need to be able to send deposits and book appointments from the app wherever they are.

Product (Christina Schumann, 8/21): on CXP's roadmap, but needs more discovery. It should absolutely be done; it's a question of when and tradeoffs. Currently sits below AI Receptionist iterations in Q4 and will be discussed for prioritization with leadership and customer-facing partners. Richie Krauss asked whether client comms would own it alongside fintech since it involves payments.

Additional customer signal (CX, forwarded by Tiffany 7/29): (1) Silver Mirror and several MM customers (as written in the forwarded note) want text payment links via the API so a third-party text bot or call center can collect payment before the appointment; for Silver Mirror this was a blocker for AI Receptionist adoption. (2) Hydration Room and Regen want to send a link at the end of an appointment to capture payment details; important for Hydration Room's mobile locations and for RegenMD at intake. (3) Agentis (8/14) emailed asking for client payment links and asked support to escalate.
