Option to Disable Credit Card Requirement for Online Booking
Hi Boulevard Team,
I’d love to suggest an update to the online booking system — allowing businesses to choose whether or not to require a credit card when clients book online.
As both a business owner and a consumer, I’ve noticed that some new clients are hesitant to share sensitive credit card information with a business they haven’t yet established trust with. Personally, I’ve skipped booking appointments online for this reason, and I believe some potential clients do the same.
While I understand that requiring a credit card helps protect businesses from no-shows and last-minute cancellations, I believe that decision should be left to each business owner. For spas and salons with strong client relationships or low no-show rates, collecting card information upfront may not be necessary and could absolutely repel potential new bookings.
Giving businesses the ability to toggle this requirement on or off would make the platform more flexible and user-friendly, while still allowing those who need the safeguard to keep it in place.
Thank you for considering this enhancement — it would make a meaningful difference for both business owners and clients. I'm trying to eliminate barriers between my business and clients, making it simple to work with us. It's possible that we have created too many hurdles, policies, and penalties to work with us and it's turning clients away.
