This is actually a bit of a bug. You can pick a resource when selecting on calendar and it ignores that and puts in in whatever resource the computer originally picked (100% of the time it is the resource that is booked, not the one that is available). Not sure why it lets you place/rearrange it on the calendar when the system ignores that placement.

I just recently started creating a form to include this element and realized it wasn't a part of this software, I really wish it was!

We don't use the message feature, but we do use TextExpander for everything. You could easily make a snippet for this so you can just use a shortcut (like ;prom) to type the entire message for you. The best part is you can use it anywhere, so you can automate typing of long emails, common text responses, etc...

We have this kids checking out under parent's credit card. We schedule the parent for a "Miscellaneous service" and then combine them for checkout, but a method built into the checkout experience would be appreciated!

We often run a ticket for account credit, or create a "miscellaneous Service" appointment for the client paying and then merge the two in a group checkout. Neither one is super clean though. A smoother way to arrange that checkout would be super helpful!

Adding staff that do clock in and out but aren't on the schedule (front desk) would be an excellent addition too!
