Agree checkbox for cancellation policy for self-booking
When booking online, have client check a box that attests that they agree to cancellation policy before being able to book.

The update is a step in the right direction, however, many salons have policies that have different rates for different time periods such as cancellations within 48 hours of appointment carry a 50% fee and cancellations within 24 hours of appointment carry a 100% fee. That being said, this new feature is not accurate for salons with similar policies. Additionally, say a client goes on and books an appointment for next day or even same day since the business cancellation policy is set to 48 hours it’s showing that the appointment must be cancelled 2 days prior to avoid fees which will create confusion. For these reasons I think a simple checkbox stating they agree to the policies or a more customizable feature is necessary.

I would like to add to this and maybe have a reminder pop up when they late cancel within a certain timeframe that we can set?
If its legal - take a step further and either have the system automatically charge them or put the late cancel charge in their cart/profile to show as needing to be check out by the front desk some how?

Many other industry brands make their cancellation policy super visible within online booking. We love the format from DryBar.
The client has to check off on the cancellation policy when booking an appointment online AND check a box saying they understand the policy before booking the appointment online.

Yes, this is a huge issue with our business. We have the cancellation policy on all our forms, website, etc and still clients say they did not know about it after they are charged. I think this is great but a check box agreeing that they have read the terms of the cancellation policy is a must and that way there should be no dispute or less of them as we can show they have checked and read it. If there is not a check box clients will still say they did not see it or were not aware.

we need more reassurance that clients have read the cancellation policy... seems like fine print at bottom and not noticeable. to guarantee us getting the 50% or whatever cancellation fee it looks better for us with credit card companies that the client had to check a box that they read it before booking

Bumble & Bumble would like customers to agree to cancellation terms by checking a box next to where it says -By booking this appointment, you agree to Bumble and Bumble's Cancellation Policy (https://www.heydayskincare.com/pages/service-product-policies) as well as Boulevard's Terms of Service (https://www.joinblvd.com/legal/terms?utm_campaign=checkout-page&utm_medium=booking-widget&utm_source=Heyday) .
