A practical example of how this would be useful is in the case of certain laser services that we offer. We need the patient to arrive 15 minutes prior to the actual laser treatment to have numbing cream applied to their face. We don't want the providers time to be spent sitting around waiting for their face to numb. They should be able to overlap appointments at the beginning, not at the end which are the only options available currently.

Having an EMR that doesn't require a birthdate on their profile is not only inconvenient, it's dangerous. We have two clients with the exact same name and the only way we can identify them now is through their phone number. If you are going to try to be a legitimate EMR, requiring certain identifying data is a must. This is something that should be fixed yesterday. Using a form to gather and store the DOB is not a valid workaround as it requires too many clicks to see that vital piece of information.
