Stylist who only do haircuts know how long each appt will be. Now a client or receptionist can book any random time such as 2:10pm. My stylist either book 30, 45, 1hr depending on the cut. In order to ensure we are making the most of the stylist day we call and move start times around so we dont have stylist with chucks of time that they cant do a service. Blocked timings has worked really really well at other salons ive been at. What I mean is lets say a client wants to come in at 2:10pm this actually takes 2 appts now because not many clients dont want to come in at 240pm, they will book for 3pm. With blocked timings it only allows clients to be booked at specific intervals, 20, 30 etc depending on how much time the stylist needs for that cut. such as, a stylist books 30 min short cuts and starts at 11am leaves at 4pm. Blocked timings would have chunks of 30mins starting at specific times in this example it would be 11am, 1130am, 12pm,1230p, 1pm etc for their day. If a client or receptionist clicks on 1140am, the appt is booked at 1130am and another appt CANNOT be booked until 12pm. This would help us in so many ways from stylist utilization, maximize the shop revenue and stylist earnings because they wont have the small 5 and 10min openings that is money out the window. Thanks
