When adjusting inventory quantities, service times, etc... The scroll wheel can adjust the amount if the cursor is over the entry box/line. This can often result in some crazy data if you aren't very careful about where the mouse is.

I could be in the minority but I have never used the mouse to adjust these amounts, and I don't see much of a use case where it is beneficial.

I have, however, messed up my data multiple times with this being an option. Real life scenario: clicking on a box to enter an inventory number, entering it, then scrolling down the page to go to the next items on your list. Many days later you realize that your inventory adjustment of +2 became a -2, and now you end up re-ordering because you think you are out of the product.
