about notification system and checking out
I used to use booker and I loved it but I don't regret that I moved to Boulevard because it is mostly better than booker.
There are two things that make running my business difficult.
First, Boulevard is great for salons with a front desk team that can access a laptop or computer. However, for small businesses like mine that don’t have a receptionist, it can be challenging. I handle everything—from making appointments to checking out clients—on my cellphone, but I don’t receive enough information through the app. Today, I lost a client who had added themselves to the waitlist because I had no way of knowing without opening my laptop. During a busy workday, it’s just not possible to keep checking my laptop constantly.
With my previous booking system, Booker, I used to receive all notifications, not just for my own appointments but also for my employees'. This made it easy to manage appointments. However, with Boulevard, I have no idea what’s happening until I open my laptop. I pay for a booking system because I want to avoid the cost of hiring a receptionist, but Boulevard seems to be designed more for businesses that have one.
The second issue is with the checkout process, which is similar. With my old system, I could check out clients directly through the app. It was easy to prompt clients for a tip. With Boulevard, however, it’s tricky because the tipping option is hard to find in the app. I know there’s Blvd Duo, but that requires a computer or laptop.
Additionally, sometimes I need to charge a credit card on file. However, when I do, there’s no option to ask for a tip, which is inconvenient.
I believe switching to Boulevard was a great decision, and overall, I’m very happy with it. Even though I’ve pointed out a few things I dislike, Boulevard has many amazing features. I just hope you’ll consider looking into the issues I mentioned.
Thank you!
